The Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Yunnan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established in 1963 and 2003.The provincial key TCM specialty of Orthopedics and Traumatology passed the acceptance and was awarded the Yunnan Provincial Key TCM specialty plaque by the Yunnan Provincial Health Department。"Cervical spondylosis" has been approved as a key TCM special disease in Yunnan Province。In 2006, with the approval of Yunnan Provincial Health Jin, the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology was rated as a famous department of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Yunnan Province. In 2012, it became a key specialty construction unit of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with one standing member of the Orthopedics Branch of the Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine and one national member, and one deputy director of the Yunnan Orthopaedic Society of the Chinese Medical Association。It is the chairman unit of the Yunnan Branch of Bone Injury of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Chairman unit of the Yunnan Branch of Bone Injury of integrated Chinese and Western Medicine。There are 130 regular hospital beds。At present, the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department of Yunnan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine has become an important base for the medical treatment, teaching and scientific research of traditional Chinese medicine.
